Combine an amazing church family with incredible leadership. Add a passion for "missing" souls of their community, and you have a glimpse into our time with Life Tabernacle in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Our first Sunday, we met a couple who had been in contact with the church for some assistance several months earlier. They found Pastor Holley's card and came to service Sunday evening. Kathleen received the Holy Ghost. We stopped by Monday afternoon to check on them. The short visit turned into a Bible Study. Jose and Kathleen both saw their need to be baptized in Jesus' name. The choir was assembled at the church for practice and a training session…which turned into a baptismal service! Both received a wonderful touch of the presence of God.
Jose and Kathleen, along with their beautiful baby girl, were in service every night for the next two weeks. On the second Sunday, Jose had mentioned he was having trouble with his vision and asked us to pray. Monday, he was rushed to the hospital and slipped into a diabetic coma. Sadly, he passed away on Saturday. While we grieve with Kathleen and Jose's family, we are amazed at the window of opportunity that God's mercy provided Jose.
During the week, we taught several small group sessions. It's important that people learn how to effectively reach others working inside their own personality and life style. While we held outreach "events" on Saturday, the church has transitioned into a "lifestyle of evangelism" making them effective for the kingdom of God on a daily basis.
On that Sunday, there were over 400 in attendance, the presence of the Lord visited us in a wonderful way. During the altar service, 13 were baptized and at least 4 received the Holy Ghost. Following the service, Life Tabernacle hosted lunch and a giveaway. The newly formed Community Relations Department, under the leadership of Bro. Hallford, did a fantastic job facilitating the transportation of guests and is actively working to retain and disciple each of them.
We were also priviledged to be a part of Life Tabernacle's first Bilingual Service. The talent of this church never ceases to amaze us! The music, testimonies and the preaching were all in Spanish. Of course, Ken didn't preach in Spanish…it was translated! The presence of the Lord ministered in a mighty way.
Life Tabernacle, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your incredible team! We are excited about the great reports that continue to come in.
Not only are the Holleys excellent examples of real Christians, their leadership abilities are unparalleled. They have become dear friends of ours. We enjoyed our time with you of both and your family. The stories, the laughs, and the silly inside jokes are treasures we hold dear.
We love you all. Remember…this is your moment!
