I am convinced that a passion for reaching the lost must be the central focus in our day to day lives! We cannot afford to set soul winning aside, while we attend one church service after another! We must reach our cities and this world with the message of Jesus Christ!
Showing up to church, and enjoying the great singing and preaching is not enough. There is no greater satisfaction than talking to people about the love of Jesus Christ!
I have discovered that soul winning involves far more than simply inviting someone to church. I believe that soul winning is a lost art….a lost burden. For too long, we have placed on pedestals the men that have learned to preach. Now, please don’t misunderstand this point. We must always strive to better ourselves in every area of life, including preaching. However, Solomon’s statement did not say, “He that preacheth well is wise.” He did not say, “He that has mastered the art of communication is wise.” He said, “He that winneth souls is wise.”
It is time that every Christian return to the initial commandment that Jesus Christ gave to His disciples……it’s time to become fishers of men! To be totally transparent, I question the logic of just showing up to one church service after the next, and never winning a soul!
Of the many things that I have learned while evangelizing, one thing stands out…the people who are not pregnant with promise…the people who are not carrying a miracle in their spiritual womb…the one’s who don’t win souls, are the “only” ones that question, critique, and cast stones.
If you have been hindered by pressure placed on you by others, or you have been paralyzed by the spirit of fear. Please don’t allow anyone or anything to keep you from evangelizing your city!

Bro. Cook, I certainly enjoyed you and Julie’s ministry while you were at our church. I feel that I learned alot about winning souls and the presence of the Lord was awesome. Thanks for caring! (Bishop TT’s mother)

Bro. and Sis. Cook,
When I read this post on soul-winning, I began to think about something my dad has always told me. He always tells me about how everything we do is either a seed or its water. We plant seeds with everything we say and do, everything is interconnected with the people we have surrounding us. On the other hand, sometimes other people water the seeds we plant. We, as Christians, are supposed to live our lives as a witness to the world, but as you said, this isn’t enough, we must not be afraid to speak, no matter what other people think. The both of you are amazing and I miss you already.
From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for all the times you have followed God’s will in a service. I love you both so much!
