We just completed two great weeks with Bro. & Sis. Potts, and the wonderful people from the Evangelism Center of Zanesville.
I really felt, before going to Zanesville, that God was sending us there to challenge and encourage this fantastic group of people. I did not feel that this would be an enormous time of outreach, as the Lord wanted to speak to the church body. Therefore, each night before church, we met for an hour with the leadership team and held sessions/seminars on subjects such as: inner-church ministries; leadership structures; soul winning; retention; and assimilation.
Throughout the two weeks, we were privileged to see many people baptized, and many receive the gift of the Holy Ghost! I wish I could explain the depth of God’s presence that settled into that sanctuary during the final three services. Almost breath-taking!
On Monday of our second week together, the jail ministry team allowed me to tag along with them and speak to the large class of inmates in the county jail. I briefly shared with them a portion of my life’s testimony, and encouraged them to turn their entire life over to the Lord.
These men had already seen the Lifeline DVD, and they were excited about being set free from drug addictions, alcoholism, and a multitude of other vices. Immediately after our time together, one inmate looked me in the eyes and said that he would see me in church on Friday night. He further explained that Monday night was his final night in jail, and that he was ready to live for God.
About ten minutes into the message on Friday night, I noticed this man crying and heading for the altar. This was the same man that I met in jail earlier that week. After a brief time of crying out to God, Greg received the Holy Ghost!
During, the final three services, he sat on the front row, and worshipped the Lord unashamedly! How awesome!
Each night, we had a great crowd of people, as several of the local churches came to show their support of this revival. The area churches have been kind to one another, and it has been great to see some unity in the body of Christ!
Saturday night, at least two people received a physical healing, two men were delivered from smoking cigarettes, and one claimed deliverance from the heaviness of depression. There was a tremendous amount of liberty that was felt during our final weekend in Zanesville.
In our photo section, we will include some incredible pictures from the services. Take a moment and check them out!
Julie and I would like to say that we truly enjoyed our time with the Christians that attend the Evangelism Center! The Potts’ treated us like royalty, and we fell in love with this family! This pastor and his wife, were outstanding in their willingness to make us feel special!
A sweet couple in the church blessed us financially, on our final night together. It is so nice to know that people are still sensitive to God, as well as to the needs of ministry. We have a long trip back to Tennessee, and this will more than take are of our traveling expenses! Wow!
Finally, we want the Evangelism Center to know that we believe in you, and we look forward to another fantastic time together, in 2008! Until then, keep it going! We love you!
