We enjoyed an entire week centered around outreach and personal evangelism with the people of MVACC. After the Sunday morning service, we headed out for the streets of Mount Vernon, and witnessed to others about the life changing message of Jesus Christ. On Sunday night, at the conclusion of a personal evangelism seminar, a divine visitation of the Lord settled into the sanctuary, and one man was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.  While he was still in the water, he received the baptism of the Holy Ghost!

On Monday morning, we were on a mission!  From door hangers, to door knocking, we did our best to cover the entire city with invitations to the special events that would take place during the up-coming weekend.

Although the strongholds of this city were easily noticed and felt… we were determined to see great things take place!!!   Several of us took a break from outreach, and headed back to the church for a time of concentrated prayer.  We knew the task ahead would be difficult, and it would only be successful if we walked in the Holy Ghost.

On Wednesday night, there was a wonderful sense of excitement.  After preaching on the plan of salvation, 6 people were baptized and 3 were filled with the Holy Ghost! (What a tremendous boost of enthusiasm was added that night!)  The level of expectancy was rising to an entirely new dimension.

On Saturday, we gathered at Riverside Park for a wonderful day of fun and festivities.  The moon walk seemed to capture the attention of many of the younger children, while the “Hands of Praise,” performed many songs to a large crowd of older children and adults.  Some of the musicians and singers were on hand, and added a special touch to this fantastic day.

Next, we threw out hundreds and hundreds of pounds of candy to the large crowd of kids, and adults (kids at heart)!  When I say hundreds, that is by no means an exaggeration.  The back of our truck was completely filled with boxes of candy (stacked three high).  I have never seen this much candy at one time!  It was truly amazing!  This was every kid’s dream, and every diabetic’s worst nightmare!

Finally, the time had come that many had worked hard for…..  And here are the results of Sunday's service:

*190 in Kid‘s church!

*Approximately 425 in attendance!

*16 baptized during the altar service!

*Several received the Holy Ghost!

*Numerous bible studies established

*New transportation routes set up for Wednesday night!

Approximately one hour after the service, I spoke with a great family from MVACC.  I felt the Lord giving me direction concerning her father’s situation.  He was pastor of a Wesleyan church for 30 years, and had recently moved to Mount Vernon.  I felt a connection to this fine family, and knew that God’s hand was very much involved in their lives.  After releasing the direction of the Holy Ghost to this sweet sister, I knew that if she would follow through with the word, her father would immediately get in his car and come back to the church and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.

About an hour later, while visiting with some of our friends from the church, I received a call stating  that this incredible man was en-route to the church, and wanted to be baptized.  Wow!  God’s Word is always a sure thing.

A small group of us gathered alongside the baptistery that night, and watched a miraculous event take place before our very eyes!  Afterwards, we sat around the altar and listened to his emotionally-moving story.  Convinced that God was orchestrating his steps, this pastor talked about the events that surrounded his previous few years.  He spoke about his ministry, and all the memories.  He spoke about his love for people, and the things of God.
