On Wednesday night, we witnessed a tremendous visitation of God’s presence. Two more received the Holy Ghost! One lady was away from God for over twenty years. She and her girls have been using drugs together for a long time (intravenously). The two daughters came for the first time on Sunday morning. Both were baptized, and received an incredible touch from God, they returned that night with smiles and a new lease on life.
They were very open about their drug use, and stated that they really wished their mother would come to church “one time!” However, they weren’t confident that she would even be open to the suggestion, after all these years.
On Wednesday night, that happened! Momma came, and received the Holy Ghost during the preaching! What a beautiful sight it was to see momma and her two girls holding one another, and being touched by God!
We also saw our new friend, Donny, receive the Holy Ghost and be baptized. He is a sweet guy, who has made a tremendous impact on this church throughout this week. He is 27 years old, and has some limitations. But, he is so sensitive to God. In fact, Donny rode with us to Jackson, Ohio on Friday to a sectional youth rally that I had the privilege of preaching. (He sung Christian songs all the way there, and kept everyone entertained).
Sunday morning: Today was fantastic! Bro. Austin preached the morning service, and I conducted the altar service. Three more ladies were baptized!!!
Pastor Austin is an outstanding preacher, and the people of this community love him. His wife is a talented musician and singer, as well as one of the sweetest ladies! We think highly of these people, and believe they are doing a great work here in Ironton, Ohio. (By the way, their kids are awesome, also). What’s up Blake, Hannah, and Isabella?
Sunday Night: The sanctuary was filled to capacity, and people were sitting in the foyer! During the altar service, Loretta received the baptism of the Holy Ghost! We met her husband, Phil, in a gas station parking lot around 1 A.M. two weeks ago. This entire family has been baptized, and they have been actively working in the church ever since.
Two of the local politicians were in service tonight. These are kind men who have a heart for God, and they care about their community. I believe that God is making a close connection with these two men for a reason. The plan of God for this church is very large, and I am so thankful that these great people have allowed me and my wife to jump on board and become part of the team.
The youth group is large and in charge! They are on fire for God, and they are bringing an enormous amount of guests each service. I really believe that they can become one of the largest youth groups in Ohio within the next month.
